AADE determined to put an end to fake receipts with the use of QR Code

Ειδήσεις Ελλάδα

On November 1, the Greek Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) will put an end to the fake receipts, as, in view of the interconnection of POS with cash registers, it will oblige all those involved to use a QR CODE.

The decision will enable all taxpayers to “check” through the “Apodixi” application if a receipt is genuine or not, and if it is fake to file a complaint with the AADE. In order to achieve this goal, the financial staff is promoting new changes to the electronic receipt collection system, as it has been proven that the incentives established for electronic receipt collection have failed.

The aforementioned changes are planned to take effect from 2024 and the review of the legislative regulations proing tax incentives for the use of electronic means of payment for retail transactions has already been put on the table of the competent officials of the Ministry of National Economy.

The fines proed for infringements of violation or falsification or interference with the operation of the Electronic Tax Mechanisms are particularly severe.
