Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered his defense minister to implement a temporary ceasefire in Ukraine for 36 hours this week to allow Orthodox Christians to attend Christmas services. But the proposal was swiftly dismissed as “hypocrisy” by Ukrainian officials.
